Daturazi Witch Soldier: Nero

Unstable… metaphorically and literally.
The Daturazi Witch Soldiers are an elite close combat unit.  They are Impetuous and (in game terms) some of the cheapest Morats around.  Rather peculiar for an elite unit.  Most Morat army lists have are maxed out with Witches as a result- I'll have to get another two to complete the collection.

Some quick notes on the paint scheme:

Red Gem:  Khorne Red base.  50:50 mix of Evil Sunz Scarlet and Sunburst Yellow for the first crescent.  Evil Sunz Scarlet for the second crescent.  Pallid Wych Flesh for the final thin line.  Then a dot of White Scar in the opposite corner.

Blue Gem:  Kantor Blue base.  Teclis Blue crescent.  Lothern Blue crescent.  Blue Horror for the final thin line.  Then a dot of White Scar in the opposite corner.

Black Edging:  VGC Cold Grey on the edges which catch light.  Final highlight with VGC Ghost Grey.

Glowing Gems:  Kantor Blue base.  Teclis Blue centre of the gem.  Dry brush with Lothern Blue.  Then crescent with Lothern Blue on the corner which catches the light.  Then edging with Baharroth Blue.

Ribbons:  Kantor Blue with Teclis Blue highlights.

Leather straps:  VMC English Uniform with VMC Medium Grey highlights.
Nero's latest dance move- show off the blade.
I'm looking forward to trying him out on the table top.  The Impetuous Order will be really helpful for the Morats since their model count is lowish because of their relatively high cost.

Better fix that PVA glue!!
Overall I wasn't too impressed with him to begin with, thinking the sculpt was a bit comic- but with a bit of time and effort with the paint brush, Nero's turned out ok.

Until next time!
